I'm only slightly obsessed.

My invitations are here and I'm so thrilled. I'm bummed that I had to blur out the names/addresses, but you never know what kind of crazies are on the internet.
I've likely mentioned it before, but I modeled some elements of my invitations after the set that Krista of A Lovely Morning and 100 Layer Cake created for her wedding. I used Jenna Hein for the calligrapher and the fabulous printer, paperedtogether. I couldn't be happier with the final product.
More details to follow!

Just a peek...

My invitation sets are being letterpressed as we speak and I.am.so.excited.
As you may know, the invitations have been one of the most important, most stress inducing, meltdown causing, budget reconfiguring portions of this entire wedding.
I came into the whole arrangement with a pretty specific vision of what I wanted, I just needed the right person at the right price. I searched high and low and almost gave up a few times... but I eventually discovered that... she exists!
Her name is Krista and she runs PaperedTogether studio. She is my favorite gal of the moment. Much more about her and my invites soon. Til then, here's a peek at the envelopes!
By the way, when she was unable to find the perfect envelope liner for one particularly neurotic and super-picky customer (yeah, I'm speaking of myself), Krista decided to create and custom print them. Yeah, she's that good.

In case you missed the memo...

I heart NY.

From Hello!Lucky. While you are on their site, be sure to check out their "etiquette" section. Very helpful information for the appropriate invitation wording when your family situation is a bit sticky!

The girl is good.

This is the stationery wardrobe that Amy of Bespoke Stationery created for her own New York wedding. I can't imagine a more perfect invitation, and that's not just because I'm a New Yorker. All of her work is truly fabulous!

Sigh... If only my paper budget were slightly larger. Check out her wedding on Southern Weddings.

Save the dates and inserts...

are finally out!

Girlfriends of mine whose wedding were months after my wedding were starting to send theirs out and I was in a panic. It took me forever to find the image for the insert, decide exactly what to say and get it to look just right and then even longer to finally have them printed and shipped. But, when they finally arrived, I could not have been more pleased!

Next step- invitations. God, I wish I weren't so neurotic.

Ps: forgive the crappy photos, the lighting in my apartment is awful!

Invites

Very soon after my engagement, as I was just discovering the vast world of bridal blogging, I discovered and fell a little bit in love with Kristina of a lovely morning. Clearly you must already know her, right? She seems to have celebrity status in this world of all things wedding.

Her invitations totally inspired me and really kind of helped me decide on my wedding colors (black and white) and gave me a clear idea of the kind of invitations I had to have. I had been unsure whether or not letter press was truly worth the extra money, but after seeing her invitations I knewthis was non-negotiable. I became completely obsessed with the idea of placing some calligraphy within the invitation. Oh, and the black envelopes with the white printing.... perfection.

I decided that mine would have to be square in shape, and include our custom silhouettes at the top of the invitation. And, of course, envelope liners would be mandatory. I have been casually corresponding with someone to make my letter pressed dreams come true. But today, I discovered these guys on the Bella Figura website. Aren't they elegant?

I am waiting on a quote with all of the little extras that I am hoping for... I'll keep you posted.
