Winter shorts

 I love the idea of shorts in the winter.  Have I had the guts to wear them yet?  No, of course not, but in my defense, it's been frigid in NY these days.  However, when the time is right, I plan on sporting a sexy pair.

Flannel's not dead.

You can be sure that I'm kicking myself for donating all of those flannel shirts from my mid-90's "grunge phase."  I'm betting there are some savvy thrift store shoppers happily donning the plaid flannels of my youth.  Sigh....

I've had to head out and pick up a bunch of new ones.  This time I'm opting for a more fitted version.  I am loving this look.

Jimmy, you will finally be mine.

Have you heard? The illustrious Jimmy Choo is releasing a line of totally fabulous, completely galmorous, true to the "real thing" shoes (and clothes and accessories and handhadbags) at H&M this week!  I am beside myself with excitement.  The shoes are amazing, but most importantly- affordable!  Most of the heels are just $129 and you can score the flats for under $70.  I think I've died and gone to heaven.

Fabulous excerpts from a recent K.L. interview in Harper's Bazaar.

"Never use the word cheap. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes...You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans- it's up to you. The T-shirt can be impeccable, and the jeans too. The body has to be impeccable as well- that helps alot. If it's not, buy small sizes and less food."

Thanks Karl. I have Narciso Rodriguez taste and an H&M budget these days, so I appreciate your approval of bargain shopping.

"Dress for yourself and the man you love (if there is one). Women dressing to impress other women- forget about that. It's a very bad way of thinking."

I admit it, I dress for my girlfriends. There, I said it. Don't we all? If I dressed for David I would be stuck in pageant hair, wearing stilettos, a mini skirt and a plunging tank top everyday, and really, is that practical? I think not.

The interview is classic and full of brutal honesty, "Very high heels actually look better on tall girls, but men hate to walk around with giants who make them feel like midgets," and "I am very against looks that put women under what I call 'permanent sexual alarm.' That can be very embarrassing for others- and, when not followed by action, it's also kind of ridiculous." Plus, some pretty harsh criticisms. You must read the whole article.

A spring full of cardigans.

There are many things that I am looking forward to when it comes to ushering in the next season. Sunshine, my engagement photo shoot (yeah, I just called it a shoot... three costume changes and props that include one dozen white balloons constitute a shoot, don't they?), and a half dozen bachlorette parties. But most of all, I'm looking forward to wearing the hell of a cardigan.

(Clearly, it takes more than just a cardigan to look like Megan Fox, but a gal can dream, can't she?)

Oscars!

I am the girl whose mother, future mother in law and best friends repeatedly told while gown shopping, "Teresa, you're looking for the gown to wear to your wedding, not to an award's ceremony!"

So, imagine my delight with the dresses of this years Oscars! I loved so many of them, but my two favorites are:

Taraji Henson

and the always lovely Sarah Jessica Parker.

Two for One...

So...

I've formally asked my bridesmaids to be in the bridal party. I was holding out in an attempt to come up with some cute way to ask them, but nothing creative came to mind, so I decided to "kick it old school" and just ask them.

And...

I've picked the dress. It was important to me that the dress was cute and modern and overall, practical. I wanted them to be able to wear it again and again and not spend a fortune on it. You can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this number:

In black, of course, with a satin sash around the waist... white perhaps, or maybe some kitschy pattern. Anyway, for $98 I am thrilled with it! The girls claim they like it, and they are not the types to pay me lip service.

Oh! Look what else I found:

My coveted jumpsuit! Also 98 bucks! Express.... who knew?!

I need it....

I need it, I need it, I need it. I could never justify the purchase of it, but I am terribly in love with it.
